I took part in Sarah Bodmans’ Bookmarks XII project where each artist produces an edition of 100 bookmarks measuring no more than 6 x 19cm. I’m a little bit obsessed with the black death at the moment so I did three drawings based on quotes I found in a book using different media on the stone so I could also use it as an etching exercise.
I won’t show you the actual stone because it’s embarrassing how badly I etched the ink wash but the skull which was drawn with lithographic crayon held up really well. The squid print. Sorry about updating times its been difficult trying to photograph this monster.
I’ve finished editioning this, HAND GROUND IT WITH SHEETS AND SHEETS OF SANDPAPER, and I’m starting on the next large print this week.
